I remember when this miracle happened and you told me about it and shared that precious picture. This is how all our kitties came to us—gifts unsought but ones we later wondered how we could have lived without 😻

What a great journey to be found by a cat, I love it! And your writing style is always great! Have a wonderful day!

I know cats can be very sensitive with dying people, so was not surprised by the mother's story. I have had a few much loved cats in my life, including an elderly rescue cat called Mince Pie because she came at Christmas, and another elderly cat who a dying friend asked me to have. But recently I am frustrated by how the local cats are decimating the local wild birds. What to do?

Yes, such a hard thing for those of us who also love wildlife. We keep Kitty Wampus inside. We live in a climate where we can keep the windows open year-round, with reinforced screens, and a gate to keep him away from the front door entryway. We have birdbaths and habitat outside our home, as well as mean streets and dogs and lilies that could kill our cat. He gets to play with toy mice and the occasional real one indoors.

What you're doing is perfect, allowing you the beauty of both the kitten and the birds. I wish more people would do the same. Inside the cat is a kitten, but outside it quickly becomes a wild predator.
